As you can see by the examples, it does happen. However, it can take time. Took Google a couple of weeks to get around my new url's, and I have high PR. The higher PR you have, the more often/quicker you will get deep spidered. To get high PR, you need a good number of links, both in to your home page, and inner links.
Keep your eye open for an announcement regarding a vBulletin Google site map that will be available shortly care of me. This helps as well.

^^ and till such time you can try a manual sitemap. In google you have option to submit text links with parameters. Now there are lots of softwares ans scripts that will crawl text links out there. Get it done manually and submit.
And till such time pray t2dman comes up with his script fastcos it is gonna be an awesome one if the last was any indication.
Basit -- definitely keep your eyes peeled for that vBSEO-compatible Google sitemap from T2DMan, I'm looking forward to it too. Here's the thread to bookmark or subscribe to: vbsitemap-vbseo.php .
Here are some more Google sitemaps info pages:

As acers mentioned, you can also submit a text file via the sitemaps program ( Sitemaps text file submission ), but keep in mind that Google encourages using the sitemap protocol and format instead of simple text files.

i didn't mean simple text links though.
If you have some time with you and are willing to experiment with ssh then download google sitemap generator(yaa the python one) and use it to convert text to sitemap prootocol. You will need some regex matching software once to add the optional info eg. changefreq, priority etc, (which basically won't change for thread links at all)
try.. it sure helps..
EDIT: actually jonathans link is to the same sitemap i am talking about.
I was wondering, my forum has got just around 5,500 threads with around 13,500 posts and yet i have more than 33000 pages indexed on google. What does that mean?Whereas Basit has a whopping 88,925 threads with more than 2,115,634 posts and yet he has got a meagre 5000+ pages indexed on google. What's the catch in there?
basit might be starting new.
there are number of things
1) the archives if you had earlier
2) when you started vbseo
3) pr of site also.
Exactly, I have around 300,000 indexed pages, which is less than my personnal record, but I enjoy a much better ranking than before! And the majority are top of the serps for their search terms!!!! Thats what counts.
I am really new on SEO, Installed soon afer Gold release. But this site is up for like 3 years now, still very pathetic result. Must be something is wrong. I hope with help of you guys and little bit of hard work I will be a proude customer like everyone else around.Originally Posted by acers

Thanks for your time and hints![]()
I think there is another factor which I missed earlier, i re-open my site after closure of 3 weeks. and may be during that period Google decided to get rid of my site from database or something like that :-s Not sure, there are several other mistakes I have done which I mentioned above.Originally Posted by Neutral Singh
I am not sure, but one thing I sure want is a better PR and higher number of pages indexed. and I hope I will get some support from where and with little hard work I will be able to get a better ranking very soon.![]()

You mentioned about getting high PR. How I get a higher PR ? you said that I need good number of links, both in to your home page, and inner links. Tell you the truth, i am zero in this google business and i ll be realy thankful if you can guide me through or give me few hints so I can improve number of links in to home page and inner links (though I dont understand this term).
Looking forward to get vB Google site map.
Kind Regards,
actually closing site for 3 weeks is a bad idea. google would delete all crawled links from db during that time.
Also have patience now. vbseo will take 2weeks really to start delivering results. when i started it was same with me.
pr.. get backlinks going and do link-vault.(see pm)
(there is an issue of server load i am facing though when i enable link-vault. Dunno why. Has anyone else faced this?)
@Basit:
No wonder you're not doing very well in search engines, your board really need some serious SEO work (luckily for you, it mostly consists of simple tips and few template changes here and there)
Just a few notes that might help :
1. Get rid of the "powered by vbulletin" text in forum home title
2. You're using the default's "FORUM_TITLE - THREAD_TITLE" in your showthread template, change it to THREAD_TITLE only.
3. Use extrnal css instead of inline styles
4. Enable vbseo's dynamic meta tags
5. Compress HTML output (using vbseo), it helps boosting C2C ratio
6. Wrap thread titles inside H1/H2 tags (instead of bold/strong), use css to make them look as normal headlines.
7. Get more links (use your sig file when posting in public forums)
8. Read SEO articles/tips. WebmasterWorld.com is a good place to start.
9. Visit other vbseo forums that are doing well and study their source code/templates. Learn from the good guys.
Start with these, it should help you a lot (wait few weeks before drawing any conclusion!)

Those are very solid recommendations right there.Originally Posted by SEO Report
Thanks.
Lots of good advice from SEO Report. Although, be certain to be cautious when controlling H1 and H2 text sizes with CSS. Some people go overboard with this. Here's a thread describing some simple techniques to alter templates so that your title is more prominent on the page: http://www.vbseo.com/f28/two-simple-...imization-999/ .
