    Angry Have I messed up?

    Hi there members

I wanted to ask for some help with my settings because I was messaged by a new member on my site, and he said that I should not put all content in html format from my main domain ?

I do not know if I am allowed to post a link but would really like someone who knows about seo to let me know if I have setup my settings correctly ?

    Digital World Cable

Also it has been like this for over a year now, and I have 160,000+ spidered links in google.

Thank you very much for any information that can help me

    Mickie

Can you be more specific about "html format from main domain" ?

I personally do not recommend using html (or any other for that matter) as an extension simply because it may change to new technology (think of all the old cgi-bin/script.pl links that are now likely dead from just 5 years ago when cgi was king) in the future, but there is nothing inherently wrong with it.

If you're indexed, i do not recommend changing the settings.

I think he was talking about the links to the forums did not exist.

Everything is on the main domain ?

    example

    General chat forum:
General Chat - Digital World Cable Satellite Console Forum

    A thread in general chat:
Forever's not so long - Digital World Cable Satellite Console Forum

they are both on the main domain and not in any folders ?

Is that a bad thing ?

    Thank you for the help

ahh, he means "root level". nothing wrong with that at all.

It makes for moving threads from 1 forum to another keep the same link (as the forum id isn't a nested heirachy).

I would suggest simply ignoring your member's concerns.

if you're getting traffic from google, there's nothing broken and you haven't done anything wrong.

Thanks brian sorry to be a pest, I am not very seo clued up and thought I would make sure. I actually just sorted out the site as there was loads of problems due to bad editing in the templates (html validation).

Anyway, Thank you for your time
