I strongly advise you to install the sitemap modification as it is a tool which submit all site links to search engines.

I understand, but the script should work without it.

The script does work without it. But as I said in your support ticket, vBSEO can't help you if search engine spiders aren't visiting your site. Once they get there, vBSEO will do its job.

vBSEO Sitemap will get the spiders there.

Install the latest vBSEO 3.0.0 RC3 (available here: http://www.vbseo.com/downloads/)

And install vBSEO Sitemap 1.7 (available here: http://www.vbseo.com/attachments/f24...itemap-1-7.zip)

This combination will give you best results. It will also provide detailed reports on exactly what spiders are indexing.

It's been running smoothly on MANY sites....

    What is a "Release Candidate"?
A release candidate differs from a beta release in that there are no known bugs. However, this does not mean that there aren't any bugs. A release candidate represents a version of the software that we believe is ready for release, but requires more testing before we're sure.

OK... what could cause the 9+ month old cache on G? and with the pre vbSEO url's?

also do you have a site that used the sitemap function? is it add pages to the footer to let the bots crawl the whole site? or is it a submit sitemap?

Google is showing old results for many sites right now, and lots of sites (vBSEO users and non-vBSEO users) are seeing HUGE drops in indexed pages.
