Angry Google not displaying post dates correctly past 1st page of thread?

Have a problem with Google not displaying the post dates that go past the 1st page of the thread. So my 2+ page threads all look older then they actually are. For example, search for "us mint credit card rewards" and you will see the date shown is Feb 11 when there have been many posts since then. This problem is for all threads on CCF, not just that one. Got any idea why this is happening?

pop open your sitemap xml and find that url. find the lat mod date for page 1 and page 2. Are they correct to your site?

Thanks for the reply Brian. I actually don't use the sitemap, do you think that's the problem? This happens with all the threads on the site, even the ones that are very popular and linked to, so I can't imagine Google would not be crawling past page 2.

Make sure your Pagination is set to 'show all' and doesn't cut at X daysprune in the forumdisplay options.

And yes, we recommend everyone use the sitemap and maintain a webmasters account at google

I didn't see pagination in forumdisplay options, is it possibly under a different category?

Thanks for the screenshot. I went through all of them and they are set at "show all threads" already.

It's as if Google isn't recognizing there's a page 2 (or more) and is counting page 1 as separate from any others. All threads are affected and here's a more recent example of a multi-page thread, search for "blue cash approval insight" and it shows:

    10 posts - 6 authors - Last post: Aug 3

But that thread has 24 posts. If you then do a copy/paste for text that's on pages 2 or 3 of the thread it is still indexed in Google, the difference is that Google is viewing each page as a different thread.

Hi Mert, this is happening with all threads on the site, whether they are 2 weeks or 2 years old. The caches on them are usually no more than 2-5 days old.

The cache may update separately from other urls. Remember, page 2 is effectively a new url.

But this is for 100% of the threads on the site that are more than 10 posts (1 page) long. It doesn't matter if they are new or old. This is not a caching issue or SERP updating issue, as it's the same whether a thread is 2 weeks or 2 years old. If it's longer than 10 posts, it is not counting past that and the SERPS are indexing pages 2, 3, and so on of a thread as totally separate threads.

Google is not 'thread' based. Each url is a new potential landing page for search terms mutually exclusive to the first page, and the 3rd trhough .... N pages.

The sitemap will help with getting deep pages indexed.

Thanks I appreciate the replies but I don't think you guys quite understand... every page is indexed and in the SERPs. The problem is that any thread more than 10 posts (1 page) is only shown as such in the SERPs. This is not normal, as you can look up any thread from any vB forum large or small and see this is not suppose to be happening. Again I'd like to reiterate this is for all threads, new and old alike. It's extremely frustrating and really wrecking havoc on my search results since the "Last post" date is being shown for whatever post #10 is, irrelevant how many posts there are.

I understand, and I once again suggest installing the sitemap map to help google KNOW the urls that are on your site.
