For the full press release check this page http://www.google.com/press/pressrel/analytics.html Weird, on signing up your Account Details United Kingdom isnt alphabetically listed it is down with the "G"s ..     Wow, thats great. Urchin stats cost 199 USD/month up to 100,000 pageviews, additional 99 USD/month if you have more than that. (I have about 700,000 pageviews/month) so I will try this out.

    I cant activate it for the time being, Google says they can not find the tracking code, and I tried various positions inside the code, including between the head tags. Yesterday it was closed for service so I guess they are still working on some parts, so just be patient few days and try again I guess.

    I have added mine to the header and it was detected fine.

    I can only assume that with the upgrade of accounts from Urchin to Google Analytics that there where some bugs with the system, try rechecking the code you where requested to add and wait the required 12 hours.
