I am very concenered and disappointed about the GOOGLE indexing. What the heck, 4 months later and only 104 VBSEO pages ?????

I ordered your software to increase my pages on google, not reduce them.

Could some staff member look into it and tell me what is going on here? I am afraid there is something wrong with my VBSEO settings on my website not allowing google to index the site correctly.

Google is having issues again right now anyway, so it's not a good time to take any of the numbers seriously. Lots of sites, vBSEO users and non-vBSEO users, are experiencing huge drops in indexed pages at the moment.

You can help yourself out in a couple of ways. First, move the welcome header below the navbar. Second, do a little SEO work on your forum such as adding and h1 into your navbar. T2Dman has a great tutorial that makes this easy to do. Also, upgrade your vbseo version. Lots of cool features available to help you out.

And as Keith said, google is a mess right now. That is something all of us, vbseo and non vbseo users are just going to have to be patient with.

Is the upgrade easy to do?
It should be, just follow the 'upgrade' instructions within the readme file. If you encounter any issues, post in the troubleshooting forums or submit a support ticket

I just took a quick look at your site. Your vBSEO settings look fine, please don't change anything with regards to that. You have a huge welcome header text, as Mike said, try moving that below your navbar.

You have good, quality content in a default vB install, with decent (4) homepage PR. I would expect great results, it just takes more time for some websites.

Thanks for the link, I will check it out.

I have just upgraded one of my forums to the latest VBSEO. The upgrade seems to have worked smoothly.

I will attempt the upgrade to sadoun.net forum and see how it goes. Thanks for all your suggestions and support.

Ok, today I checked my website standing on Google compared to a few years ago.

    Pages in Google -
    01/13/2010 2,640
    3/19/2006 19,100

    VBSEO pages
    01/13/2010 1,220
    3/19/2006 0

Recently I updated to VBSEO to 3.5.0. Since the update, the number of indexed pages on Google have dropped.

Could someone explain to me what is happening?

I said it years ago, and I do say it again, YOU have to many empty forums, compress them down, it will look busier and prettier, on this page Sadoun Tech Forums alone you have 6 forums that have never been posted in, and I have not even looked at any sub forums. Compress them down, heavily think half then half again then once more... Look at all those sport forums most are empty if you had one, maybe people whoul be more inclined to post on the subjects you have little content for??

    1. I could not find your robot.txt file, get it uploaded and stop all the indexing of the crap,

profit(hits) is sanity turnover is vanity (pages in google)

you have good content make better use of it.

turn what you can off to guests (bots) make guests both real and bots concentrate on content

You have loads you can make members only.

you need to impove keywords on the forum home page, KILL everything you can.

Ok, so you are saying TURN OFF some forums and subforums to all but registered users?

You have loads you can make members only.
Will bots be able to index these forums if they are turned off? I prefer people be able to view threads and posts without having to register.

you need to impove keywords on the forum home page, KILL everything you can.
What do you mean "kill everything you can"? How do I do that?
