It would be more interesting to know how did they contact Google...
Well - we do know that several webmasters on the Web, and a few here, have reported significant drops. It's clear that an algorithm update occurred. If you haven't done anything major with your site that could cause it to get penalized, my guess is that they'll either rollback or fix the update soon.
Yes, this definitely is an algorithm update. My website had around 20,000 uniques a day and now it has dropped to a few hundreds a day.But the question here is will google rollback what they had done or fix the update ? I am really screwed but i am going to wait. I have also sent a reconsideration mail to google explaining what happened. I am not sure if this will be of any help.![]()
Check this few points:
did you add google anlaytics to your website ?
did you made any changes to h1 tags, meta tags or your style ?
did you moved/changed your server configurations ?
have you done any of the small changes in last 1 weeks time ?

Well to be honest my traffic was fine and then I signed up for adsense ad's (already had analytics) and then a few days later the traffic dropped.

Buzz seems to be that the algo update is related to the UK geo search as well. Not sure if that applies specifically to anyone reporting a downgrade in traffic here.
We are very much uk userbase now but we try to attract others so its not specified in the g-webmaster tools.

They are discussing it at webmasterworld and community.seobook.com. I'll report back if I find anything further.
Well, I didn't recover all the google traffic yet, but since friday I'm checking around 10 search keywords that used to be top 10 in serps, and I'm seeing they are rising several positions in one day...
In the last 2 days, I've checked this keywords position and some of then are recovering the position quickly...
Keyword A : #62 / #55 / #52
Keyword B : #17 / #12 / #16 (this one is moving a lot in serps)
Keyword C : #48 / #10 (!!)
Keyword D : #13 / #12
I think that this movements in serps are common, but at least they're moving to the top.. Especially that from #48 to #10 in just 1 day... Maybe I should wait a couple of days and keep checking my position in serps for that keywords...
Glad to hear that you are seeing some positive adjustments now.
Well, now i can definitely say that the traffic from Google is coming back..
Here are some of the Keywords that came back to the top of the SERPs (there're still some low keywords, but I hope they are next)
Keyword A : 62 - 55 - 53 - 54 - 3 (back to #3!!)
Keyword B : 48 - 10 - 12 - 10
Keyword C : 10 - 11 - 5
Keyword D : 3 - 1
Extremely glad to hear that. They either rolled back or adjusted their algorithm.![]()
