    CruiseLineForums.com - Analysis Thread

    Ok I purchased vbseo on 11-7-05

    Currently have ~44,000 index'd vbSEO pages.

    Total pages of 183,000 index'd pages.

    I was at a high around 240,000 index'd pages before vbSEO but that was due to the archive being index'd, so with that removal of duplicate content it was expected that the total amount of index'd pages would drop.

    I'm not seeing much shift yet in the SERPs but am watching closely since it's only been a week or so since implementing the software.

    So far I am please with the ease of implementation and the support here.

    Over and out!

    Rex

    @rex_b:

    That is a pretty good rate of transition to vBSEO-enabled pages. Keep us posted.

    It's now 11/16/05 and I am down to 135,000 index'd pages of which about 55,000 are vbSEO pages.

    I'm getting a little weary that I have lost over 100,000 pages so far but I did expect to lose many so I'm sticking with my gut instinct and pressing on.

    Traffic has been steady, actually up a bit, but nothing to do with vbSEO. We had some interesting finds this week from our members and well viral marketing is always the best!

    The only weird thing I am seeing in the SERPs is alot of my index'd pages are showing this for the description:

    ------------
    Go to http://www.cruiselineforums.com/for...57463#post57463. ... vB code is On.
    Smilies are On. [IMG] code is On. HTML code is Off ...
    -------------

    I can't figure out why but would like some suggestion if anyone has any.

    otherwise I will keep everyone up to date as I go.

    The "$forumrules" code is what shows that section of code. I removed it from all my templates long ago, as I don't really see the need for it.

    That's what shows that little box that says if HTML is off/on, BBCode is off/on, etc. There's really no need for it in my opinion. (And I don't see it here on vbSEO.com either.)

    Just do a global search/replace in your templates for:

    $forumrules

    and replace with:

    AdminCP->Styles & Templates->Search In Templates

    And that should be   not $nbsp; (It just replaces it with an empty space basically.)

    You did?

    The "Posting Rules" section still shows up at the bottom here:
    http://www.cruiselineforums.com/foru...se-roll-calls/

    Did you make the change on the correct style?

    When you do a search and replace, it defaults to running in TEST mode, where it doesn't really make the changes, it just shows you where it WOULD make a change. Did you change that setting to make it actually do the change?
