Hi everyone,
My name's Mike and I've just purchased VBSEO and waiting for it to arrive. Having done a bit of reading here, I figured it would be good to run a "change diary" to hopefully see some improvement in my numbers. I've just completed a detailed snapshot of my current position before I install the software and add the Google sitemap, it will be interesting to watch what happens.
Before I add my data, a question for the team here if I may. My main site is www.xpmediacentre.com.au, however I also own several other domains, all of which point to the main one. The only problem this has ever caused me is when new members try to login through one of the other domains (e.g. www.xpmediacenter.com.au)and they get logged out at each page change. Recently I've added a couple more domains to my inventory in preparation for Windows Vista and intend to submit them to the SEs to hopefully capture the new range of search terms that will be used when the OS is released.
I have to say that as far as the whole Search Engine optimisation thing goes I'm a total klutz, apart from adding my meta data to the header and submitting to Google and Yahoo year ago, I've been lucky I guess to have featured reasonably well. In many ways I find myself feeling quite nervous about using this software and making sure that my re-write rules are set up correctly for my situation, which leads me to my first question . . .
How does VBSEO work with multiple, parked domains pointing to a main one - is there an advantage or is there a "special way" to set things up to optimise my Search Engine numbers, especially if one or both of my new domain for example - www.windowsvista.net.au and www.vistamediacenter.com.au turn out to be more relevant to my site's content in the coming months?
OK, here are my starting numbers:
