another year on vbseo => double uniques over '07

Will I make it?

It's the 21st now, so 10 days left for June, 2008.

I'm on track to almost double June 2007's Unique visits.

160k->300k

Can i do it?

For the record, June 2006 (right before i installed vbseo) I did about 50k unique visits. Unfortunately, i don't have a handy graph that goes back that far.


So,
year 1 = triple (50k -> 160k)
year two = roughly double OF that triple. (160k->300k)

600% increase in daily traffic over the course of two years.

to vbseo for making it happen.

I've done ZERO marketing, advertising, linking, spamming, or anything else of the sort. I simply ran the forum as I always have.... people just keep coming

I'm currently averaging 80-90% google SE traffic. Crazy that less than 10% of my visits are active members when they make 500-1000 posts a day depending on the day. If only i could convert more of these google guests to members. I think that's what i'm going to work on for the vbseo-year (kinda like a fiscal year i guess... lol) 08-09.

Will I hit 600k uniques for june '09? time will tell

Earnings are CERTAINLY up, but i don't know about 600% since i've done tons of tests, different campaigns, publishers, etc etc.
i should probably go back and add up... but that's a lot of time i don't have.


In 06, i was running nearly 98% adsense and was doing about $20 a day from it.
Now, adsense is my 3rd, sometimes 4th, tier and I do a solid $50 a day from just adsense.

analytics shows slightly different figures than sitemeter, but the deviations are the same % wise. some must track on sitemeter that don't on GA.

again, GA is only up till the 20th of june as of this posting... but it already beats 07, especially in terms of conversions. the 2-day dip in 06 is the weekend i moved from ipb to vB and had some downtime.

also note, my bounce rate is fubar in the 08 graph. the tracker isn't working right.


I think the most important figure to look at is the % new visitors. Even though i'm getting more and more members every month (look at the goals!), the % of new vistors is up. Which means, 'im getting exposed to more and more people around the world for their first time.

Pretty amazing. I guess we're going to have to do a follow-up success story. There are still some people who think the first one is too good to be true!

I had a question about your bounce rate. You noted that it was 'fubar in the 08 graph'. Is this true in everyone's June 08 GA bounce rate? I noticed on May 27 my bounce rate started to go down and by June 2 it was less than 1% and has basically stayed between 1% to 2% all through June. I thought perhaps it was due to upgrading servers and software, but now I wonder if google is just not tracking correctly? I had a 30+% bounce rate before and of course was concerned about it. What is your opinion on this? Is google not tracking bounce rate correctly?

early rc5 and rc7 had a bad script order in it... so basically any days you had rc7 on will be tracked wrong.
