It's applied automatically if you have main "Analytics" option enabled.

You can find this in Analytics->Visitors->User Defined.

So I just had an idea...

Since our guests most likely have been to our sites before, they have previously been tracked under google, and cookied. Since this may have occured before the vbseo update that included segmentation tracking, they are still showing as 'not set' as that is what was cookied to them previously.

People who have since cleared their cookies will then get a new session on next page load.

I just had a quick look at my cookie

    Code:
    Name __utmv
    Value 255982994.member
    Host .site.com
    Path /
    Secure No
    Expires Thu, 09 Sep 2010 04:50:11 GMT
so, i'm set to track as a member for almost a whole year, until 2010!!!

i bet others are set to track as 'not set' for a whole year as well, and thus, they continue to leave the not set markings.

I'm hoping over time that this improves.

Unfortunately, my stats show the exact opposite.

    my not set is flat.

and more shocking, my member segment is dropping rapidly :(

In case if the visitor changes its status from member to guest (or vice versa), then new cookie should be set for that user.
