Analytics Issues

I signed up for Analytics at about the same time I purchased my license here. My analytics data appears incorrect, and I am sure it is something I have not loaded correctly.

For example, although I am seeing 200 posts per day and continuous traffic on my site, Analytics only shows 13 visits for yesterday.

I am looking for suggestions on what I should look for......reminder....I am very new at this.

Analytics points at / and does not seem to get to /forum

Looks like you have Analytics code entered incorrect in vBSEO CP:
Code:
UA- 5211330
The code should look like:
Code:
UA-XXXXX-X
(two numbers in the code and no space after dash)

That's right.

Edit: are you sure you have last digit "0" in your analytics ID? Usually it starts with "1".

I am gettign data, but it does not reflect current traffic levels. Perhaps is has to do with the fact that my homepage where analytics points to ....:::: Black Vert Mafia ::::.... is written in flash.

I have 20,000 posts in 3 months, but here are my results. it looks like no one vists....I am sure it is an error of mine somewhere.

Should I have added analytics directly into /forum?

your home page is killing you. it doesn't even do anything. there's 0 reason for that to be flash. i highly suggest killing it. your logo on the forum is WAY cleaner anyway.

as for the analytics problem...

vbseo isn't even on. so, vbseo can't add it to your footer, thus its not tracking anything except where you manually added it on the home page. none of your forum pages are tracking, nor are they being vbseo optimized.

Dana, where did you add the Analytics code, on the Black Vert site? I don't see it. You want it in the footer template, so it's in a common template.

Are you inserting Analytics code through the vBSEO CP on the Stang Mafia site? If so, are those stats looking like they should?

vbseo is on. Perhaps I made a msitake by using the homepage, but it is on. Are you saying that because the homepage is what it is, nothing will track?

If so, I would assume I could pull the current redirect and homepage, and replace it with vB Advanced CPMS...correct?

I don't understand. Let's back up. Where specifically on the stang site should I have inserted the code?
