Due to ajax/quick reply postings, this will not be easy to implement.

Did not think of that, you're right![]()
Even if you could, I'm not sure if it would be effective goals to track.
You probably get a fair number of people who start, but don't complete, the registration process. You probably don't get a lot of people who stop in the middle of posting a new thread.
If you want to see how much new content your getting (which is a good goal), you could probably create some simple plugins to query the db for # of new posts, threads, social group messages, etc, per day / week. Their might even be some mods on vb.org for this.
Agreed. But still, in order for this to be event remotely accurate, you'd need to disable quick reply all together.
There's already stats built into vb for threads/posts/etc. Using the goal on the reg process helps to see why and or where people are giving up on a multiple page event.

Yep, but having it implemented in GA would help me to understand what are the keywords or referal sites that provide hot discussions. I'm not a coder, but even for ajax, can't we set some onclick event for all "post replay" buttons?
just because a button was clicked doesn't mean a post was made. empty forms, wrong buttons, and so fort would sway the stats.
Plus, it's not possible to have a goal page be the same as the source page, as you would simply end in a never ending loop.

That's true, but I can compare it with real posts data from db and estimate these "blank" posts percentage.just because a button was clicked doesn't mean a post was made. empty forms, wrong buttons, and so fort would sway the stats.
Well, if goals are not possible, then what about event tracking ? Similiar to the Outgoing links ?
You can try any integration you wish, but our software does not natively support this and as such you are on your own to try to figure it out.
