This would vary from site to site, niche to niche. However, targeting a measure improvement for your own site is the best use of this data.
Apply a strategy that 30 days later shows a reduction with adding significant ROI in another area, and you'll know it's probably wise to consider re-working or reversing your strategy. On the other hand, a measurable improvement is a good indicator you're moving in the right direction.
If your #s are way out of whack with what is posted here, you're site might have a significant flaw that you need to identify.

Well, I have one thread where people search for particular world and it shows up on top but its bounce rate is around 90%. So, since I can't control that (old, 4 post thread), I've put up banners/affiliate links for the related product and services on that thread only. I just started doing this so lets see how it works out?
