3 Month Review of vBSEO on AnarchyCars

The Site History (boring): When the site started, in August, basically it was a normal everyday vBulletin installation. There was no forum merger, or anything it was a brand new forum getting ready for launch. After the launch and about a month of waiting around for new registrants to come, with little success vBSEO was installed in hopes to gain search engine traffic, and increase revenue from Google Adsense.

Now I'm not real scientific with this study or review, I didn't take screenshots of stats, but I've got a pretty good memory of what was coming and from where (especially since it was so little traffic). vBSEO was installed, when the board was about a month old. The referer stats come from AwStats so take that for whatever its worth.

28 pages were indexed in Google at the time, About 20 referers
14 pages were indexed in Yahoo at the time Hardly any referers
0 pages were indexed in MSN at the time , None...obvisously!

The advertisements on the forum pages were probably targeted about 40% of the time. Meaning we'd only have automotive advertisements come up roughly 4 out of 10 times, pretty horrible, and revenue was literally pennies per day.

Lets fast forward 3 months to today!

Since installation of vBSEO and vbSEO Sitemap plugin, our search engine rankings are flying (or should I say driving) right to the top of result pages. We are ranking in the top 3 pages consistently for car reviews you can find on our site, and we've even been receiving some hits from such terms as "car help forums" "automobile help" and generic terms like that.

Ad revenue is up tremendously the past month. Going from pennies per day, to almost $2 per day, with little noticable increase in daily traffic. Advertisements are being targeted to the topics near 100% of the time. There is no doubt that vbSEO has increased our forum earnings by helping deliver more content relevant advertisements!

Pages indexed in Google and Yahoo! have jumped a enormous amount as well. Almost to 1,000 pages indexed in Google (at the time of checking, though fluctates daily) and around 600 pages indexed in Yahoo. Pfft you maybe thinking to yourself, but our forum is so small, I'm throughly surprised that Google check back so often, let alone finding almost 1,000 pages worth of content itself.

In closing: So far vbSEO is performing as expected, while I'm still a little way off from getting the BWM , this proves to me, that vbSEO does what it sets out to do. The following 3 months, we are going to be working on Membership conversions, and better SEO of certain pages.

    Expect another review then!

While a BMW is a cool goal, a nice steady stream of extra monthly income is very nice as well.

Looks like you're seeing a good trend towards this more short-term goal.
