typical, really. i get about 1/20th google to yahoo ratio. more people just use google it seems
Same for me. Yahoo doesn't like me at all. On the sitemap feedback they say that I've been penalized, but won't tell me why, or how to correct things.
Yahoo does get traffic from middle-aged people who are aged in between 40-50 ( approx).
These people are habitual of using Yahoo even before Google came into place. Therefore it would not be apt to ignore Yahoo.
Moreover, countries like China do not use Google. Instead they use Baidu, which is a widely popular search engine in China.
Mostly youngsters jump into Google and sometimes into Yahoo while reading some news etc etc.
The problem is everyone is using Google as their main search engine thats why you are getting way more traffic from google.

Did you check your keyword rankings in Yahoo? Are the keywords that rank on Google also rank on Yahoo. If yes, there is nothing to worry about. Its just that your targeted people are not using Yahoo to search. If there are no rankings, you need to improve them
Google and Yahoo (or any search engine for that matter) have different algorithms to rank your website. That is the reason, in pre ethical-vs-unethical-seo era, webmasters used to create two similar pages but for different search engines on the same website. YOu just need to be patient with Yahoo. Research shows that while Google takes around 2 weeks to index a site (20,000 pages) completely while for the same site Yahoo took around 3 months.
You need to identify keywords that might prove helpful in Yahoo and then create pages accordingly. Hope this will help.
P.S. The research was not mine but was done by dlib.org while working on "Site Design Impact on Robots"
Google has 68% vs 16% market share for Yahoo.

A year ago ON MY SITE, yahoo provided 1/6 as much traffic as Google. Now it has dwindled to way less than 1%
How has your Google traffic changed, in comparison, over the same 1 year period?
In early July, 2007 I had switched from a different forum software to vB and VBSEO and changed host sites. My traffic dropped due to the changed urls when switching forum software for existing pages and was recovering in fall.
In November, 2008 compared to November, 2007:
- Number of monthly Unique Visitors was 83,444 --- up by 126%
- Number of Yahoo visits down from 4,100 to 28
- Number of Google visits up from 37,000 to 105,000
- Number of Page Views is up by 36%
- Total number of registered members is up by 41% to 13,722
- Number of posts by members is up by 49%
- Number of members logged in to the site each day is up by 45%
- Number of new members registered during the month is up by 98%
yeah, less and less people are using yahoo. a few years ago, most of my non-techy friends had yahoo as their homepage.
Now, almost all of them have google as their homepage.
