This is a discussion on vBulletin 4.1.12 - Promote Post to Article "Page not found" error within the Bug Reporting forums, part of the vBSEO SEO Plugin category; If it doesn't work please create a support ticket so we can check further...
Its amusing as always when ever there is a problem, Mert like the vBulletin team without even seeing anything would jump the gun pushing customers and members around and say "vBSEO working 100%, we have no problem" - American Style
Then a few posts later he would come out saying "We are investigating the issue, Huston we have a problem" - Forget Apologies, We are taking Arrogance to the next level. - AtaTurk style
I guess Mert has his flaws like all of us, maybe a little more, but he too can be helpful only when he really wants to,
BTW: if you didnt notice by now...I am having the same problem....
Mert and other vbseo staff always helped me to solve my issues ... even non-vbseo related problems.
I think its not fair to talk like this ...
The only reason that I have not migrated to XenForo is vbseo and its staff, and I am sure its the same for many other big boards.
Unfortunately, the fix provided in post #12 didn't work for me.
To be sure there is no "misconfiguration", i did a clean install ov vbseo 3.6.0 und vBulletin 4.1.12 without changing any standard-settings.
The following line appears twice in the same file:
Please make sure that you replace both of them.PHP Code:
Life can be so easy .
I Have the same problem and I find a solution without edit any VBSEO archive.
This is the process:
1. You promote a post to article.
2. In the article page put "NOT PUBLISH" and choose your configuration, in my case keep original thread.
4. You see a extrange url and the message "page not found"....take the url and delete all from .html, all after is shit.
5. You will redirect to article page but if you see, the options are not save and you can´t find it in cms.
6. Choose again the configuration, and Save but "NOT PUBLISH"
7. Now the article is in cms YOU CAN PUBLISH, the configurations are saved and the original post WILL NOT REMOVED.
I need around 30 test to this conclusion, I hope can Help Someone.
Has anyone cracked this yet please?
As far as I understand, the fix Mert supplied didn't work for you?: vBulletin 4.1.12 - Promote Post to Article "Page not found" error
Hi andres">Andres, I didn't think it had worked for anyone, and had been hanging on the thread, but on reading again I can see that it has cured the problems of at least two. I will double check that I have applied the fix correctly.
My apologies, that has worked fine! I wonder what I did wrong before. Thanks for the support.
Post 12 doesn't seem to work for me.. I've ensure both instances of the 2nd edit were done - I just get a whitepage after the edits. :(
You could have said instead of rewriting my signature.
