Exclamation Vbseo RC 6 Profile Bug -html. = Page not found

We've been working with the vbseo line and have scaled back to RC5 because of an apparent bug we are seeing on our network as well as other private networks.

To replicate the error, please follow these procedures (our network)

goto Baseball Forum - MLB Forum - Fantasy & College Baseball Forums (RC5) , scroll down to our site listing. Select atv-forum.com from the list (RC6). After the window opens with atv-forum.com attempt to click on a user name, you will see this
http://www.atv-forum.com/-.html , click that url results to a Page not found!!
Clicking the home icon at the top will refresh the page and the links will be fixed.

If you reversed the above procedure and go from the atv-forum to the baseball forum, the profile URLs are correct and working ok.

Now at first when we reported the bug we had been told it was an issue on our end. We further investigated and could NOT replicate the error with RC3 or RC5, only with RC 6.

So, we looked for others with a network running vbseo rc6, and we found one that replicates the same error.
Goto GTcars – Toronto’s Car Forum for the discussion of drag racing, special events & meets, car audio, car care, automotive pictures and Torontos Car Club. and scroll down to the bottom of their page where they have links to other forums. Click the AudiForum.ca link and you immediately look for a user name and mouse over, url is broken, same error we are replicating.

This can also be replicated with another site in their list, HondaPoint.

Can anyone explain why our network is experiencing these issues and will there be a fix ? I would imagine this is not good for indexing and is an indication of a larger issue at hand.

** SORRY PLEASE MOVE TO RIGHT FORUM **

Oleg, the bug is still reproducible with the prerelease you have given us.

Please follow the same steps as above.

so I am not the only one having that problem.

all my profile pages are down because my profile links use to be http://profiles.site.com/username.html

Please release a fix for it. I am willing to give you ftp and admincp access so that you can fix mine because it needs to be fixed ASAP.

also thing is the sitemap links dont work unless you are logged in. If you are not logged in and click on the archive links, it will show blank page and I am pretty sure spiders are getting a blank page so thats why my site is not getting indexed anymore.

If i link from my one site (canadiancaraudio.com) to the boxing forum above, i also receive the same issue. That site is not mine and is not even on my same network. So that explanation is voided.

What i see we (the boxing site and mine) have in common that vbseos' site doesnt share is the way the usernames are parsed from the member profile.

When i use this function ( Member Profile URL Format ) in RC 3
i use the custom feature of " [user_id]-[user_name].html "

This was done because user names with special characters were having issues, this seemed to be the best resolve.

However, if i link to vbseo the site and try their profiles, their re write appears to be the option of members/[user_name].html (correct me if wrong).

In RC8 i seem to have overlooked where the ( Member Profile URL Format ) rewrite even is.

So, there is some trouble shooting for you. I hope this aids in finding a fix for the future, and please advise where in RC8 the member profile url format rewrite is located.

Was your problem resolved? If so, does anyone care to share the resolution to the issue at hand ?
