Using the word PRINT in the title

I had a user make a new post on my forum titlted "Continuous Print" and when you followed the corresponding link to view the post you got the PRINT format of the thread instead. You couldn't reply, etc.

yes, this is a known issue.

the easiest fix is to move the print page rule to the front, ie, print-xxxxxxxx-xxxxx.html

expand the settings under the preset drop down with the + sign and find the "print thread rules"

Thank you for the reply but I'm not sure where I am supposed to be looking. Am I in the vbSEO control panel? vBulletin? Where exactly do I find this?

    vbseo control panel.

click the plus sign in screen 2.

use a custom setting in screen 1, inserting print in the beginning.
    ie, instead of
    [forum_path]/[thread_id]-[thread_title]-print.html
    use custom
    and enter
    [forum_path]/print-[thread_id]-[thread_title].html

orwhatever matches your current setting the best.

    It's not a bug.

You really should disable rewrites for the Printer Friendly version of pages, and block those via robots.txt anyway, IMO.

another idea is to use a rewrite similar to the following:

    /thread-123/
    /thread-123/pageX/
    /thread-123/print/

there is never any confusion this way.

This will be in every version ever released, so long as there is a printhread script rewritten to 'print'.

    I suggest Not re-writing printthread and robots.txt out printthread.php.
