Lot of load being put on the server by threads like that one and we have a few with a good 20k + posts. Currently I've disabled the vbseo because it was bring the server to it's knees. Think it needs looked into for big boards.

Never really noticed it before on the logs and most people don't surf on Threaded and about 99% don't use threaded so I'm guessing it's a spider.

Oh and sure is a load of replies, I have no idea what the sad count to a million thread is at but hey keeps some users amused .

    Sending the .xml now.

I believe VB themselves recommend closing threads at 1000 posts. I've seen some developers mention that at VB.com -- as well as a certain number of threadviews as well, but I dont remember at what number there.

I believe, this incredible CPU load is not related to vBSEO. I just made a quick test on the thread with 10,000 posts in the threaded view mode - there is nearly no difference in page generation time with and without vBSEO (the load is very high in both cases). You will see that by opening the same ("Whats on your mind") thread now (when vBSEO is disabled).
The problem is that vB gets details of all the posts in the thread in this case - it's just not meant for such a long topics.
The confirmation of this fact and a possible solution is here:

That would explain it. I'll go check that, can't believe we only noticed that there. Just turned it off since I think nearly no one uses it on our forum.

Closing this thread. Please reopen if load is higher than without vBSEO when re-installing.
