    Quick edit bug still there...

When I try to quick edit a post and save it, the result page shows the first post disappeared and changes are not saved. Strange as it is, this doesn't happen every time, I still don't understand why and when it happens and when and why not.

    Hello Tijl,

is it working correctly if you temporarily disable vBSEO?

was this reported before? (I couldn't find a corresponding thread)

I'll need to setup my 3.6 testboard because I dont like to disable vbseo, however, all templates on my live board are reverted and I'm running 3.6 and vbseo 3.0 RC3. Thought it was mentioned here before but I'm not sure. It would be strange if nobody has noticed this bug, so I'm still unsure if it's a bug on my board or in vbseo. I'll try to find out more about why and when it happens, sometimes it does and sometimes is don't...

ps: Think it only happens with quick edit of the first post in a thread. I'll try to reproduce it and let you know.

Do you have threads set to show newest posts at the top?

Nope, I do use a few hacks/plugins so those may be interfering...

*Edit* uninstalled the hack "Show first post on every page of a thread", maybe this will help.

I discovered something: when I disable vbseo, the post can also not be saved. It just keeps loading forever. I really have no idea what is causing this

This is a screenshot of after the post is saved, when vbseo is on:

Ok I know the problem (partly) now! I can't post a "€" sign in quick edit, on my board. Not sure why...

I thought I read on vBulletin.com that you should disable the AJAX features if you are using non-US languages because it wasn't compatible?

Well, disabling the 'problematic AJAX features' in admincp removes the quick edit on posts. I made a post about this on vB so soon I'll know.

BTW why wouldn't AJAX work on all languages? What a pity!

    Thumbs up

Ok this is solved. It had nothing to do with vbseo, it was a security setting on our server that was set to high, AJAX and quick edit is now working without problems.

    Thanks

I have a quick edit issue also.. Whenever I quick edit, the smilies that are in the post already show up as an "X" .... but when I save it , it shows up correctly.

I confirm this. This is now happening to me, after moving to 3.60 and vBSEO RC3.

Quick Edit smilies show as broken. I turn vbseo off, and it works fine. Turn it back on, and QE smilies are broken again.

Test... ... Ok, this is A OK on this forum. Maybe RC4 fixes this, or something else is different?

There is one bug-fix in RC4 that might be related to this issue as well
