pop-up windows in IE

These seem to be failing for Internet Explorer while working elsewhere on alternativenation.net

One of the users came up with

Further Edit: I think Firefox is obeying the <base> tag in the page, IE isn't.

and I reckon this could well be right - when opening the give reputation or buddylist windows the url for the new window contains the forum-name directory structure and so ends up with an error. Firefox for example opens the correct url.
