Polls - Wrong redirect

I am experiencing a bit of an annoying - not critical - redirect issue with polls.

Say there is a thread

http://forumdomain.com/forum-a/this-is-a-poll-thread-45235.html

The way I configured the thread URLs is to append the thread ID to the end of the title (excluding stripped words).

Say, the poll in the thread has the ID of 6825.

After a user votes in the thread URL above, he's redirected to

http://forumdomain.com/different-sub-forum/entirely-different-thread-6825.html

instead of being directed back to the original poll thread.

What gives? This happens occasionally, can't really point out why or when it is happening.

It looks like you have an error within your rewrite rules.

Well, I turned off rewrites for polls altogether, it still redirects to the wrong thread after voting.

My thread URL rewrite string is

I don't see how that could cause an issue.

are you on 3.8.2?
