    Exclamation Invalid user specified with the RC2 Pre-release version, when member profiles are rewritten without member term

    Hi

    As the title says, when you have member URL's re-written in the 3.5 RC2 Pre-release version, but you do not use the word member, it gives you a "Invalid user specified error" on all pages, thread and forumdisplay.

    mysite/[user_name] --> Gave me the error.
    mysite/member/[user_name] --> Error disappeared.

    Hope you guys resolve it before Gold.

    Cheers

    Hello,

    You need to have something in it to let it know it is for the members such as /m/ or /u/ or /member/ else it will get confused with forum URLs.

    I understand Micheal, but I wanted the member page to be like facebook... just mysite/user-name. Is it not possible?

    I am going to say no from what I remember, however I will flag this for a developer to confirm.

    Unfortunately it is not possible as it may mix up with other rewrite rules . Facebook is only rewriting member names , on the other hand vBSEO rewrites all sections of vBulletin. Thats why you'll need a member alias or any other format.

    Ok thanks... I am going with the sitename/members/[user-name] format... Isn't exactly what I wanted but it's close.
