.htaccess protection of modcp

I am confirming this now.

If you have your moderator panel .htaccess protected, then incoming linkbacks, trackbacks, refbacks, pingbacks etc will not work. Removing the protection makes them work again.

Anyone else being affected by this?

My modCP (and adminCP) are both re-named and htaccess protected and linkbacks record correctly.

Linkbacks do not use anything in the modcp directory to record, only admining linkbacks is handled via modcp sripts.

Well, linkbacks only started being recorded on my forum until the modcp was unprotected.
