    Goto last post - wrong page

    If you check the goto-lastpost-links at forumdisplay, the #lastpost (postID) is set correctly, but the page on which the lastpost is located, is calculated wrong.

    Lose4Posting - klamm-Forum
    (first thread)

    Lose für Frauen - 50.000 pro Post - Seite 25
    --> you are landing on page 25 (wrong) and then redirected to page 81 where the lastpost actually is located.
    --> link should be
    Lose für Frauen - 50.000 pro Post - Seite 81

    The page is always calculated with board default values. Any custom user page spans will invoke the redirect.

    ok, but "board default values" includes user-specific pp-settings in usercp, right? (looks so)

    Let me ask you a question:
    When theres a post-jump with wrong page ... why first load the (wrong) page completely and then redirect via javascript to the correct page with the wanted post? Couldnt you do the redirect directly with PHP and Location header? It saves time and a pageview. Or is there some SEO-thinking? (bots will not follow the redirect, landing on the url, ignoring the anchor?)

    No. It accounts for default pagination as set within the vboptions area only.

    Bots will never set a customized pagination and will never see this. Bots will always load default pagination.

    I don't remember the exact reasoning behind the Js redirect (I am not a developer), but Oleg did explain it at one point. I will try to find that thread.

    Yes, because you are logged in. Bots will never log in nor have these options.

    would be interesting to know ...
    since there exists already a method for envoking the header-redirect instead of JS

    CDN for attachments --> js redirect to correct page (2 PI)
    http://www.vbseo.com/f3/cdn-attachme...708-post299071 --> PHP/Header redirect (1 PI)

    The anchor "#postXX" is not a part of "URL" and is not sent to the server, that's why the redirect cannot be done on server side.
