    getting strange re-direct to forums

    Hi guys,

For the past couple of weeks I've been getting random strange redirects.

    For example.

I have a forum on my site called "The Plaza"

When I hover over it the URL is displayed correctly at the bottom of the screen /forum/plaza/

but when I click the link it does to /forum/a/

And I get the following error:

Invalid Forum specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thought this might help (getting redirected to domains.com/a/) but probably not.

Thank you Woostar so very much!

I think that has fixed it, I've clicked about 50 times and no error!

I wonder why this bug has all of a sudden started happening as I've been using VBSEO for almost a year without a problem and I disabled the only new plugin I installed recently so it can not be that which caused a conflict.

Any official line on this from the vBSEO guys?

    Will do Mert,

I thought (might even turn out that way) that I have been hacked.

I disabled the plugin system in config.php

and when navigating around the site /forum/forumdisplay.php?f=10 would show a url in the menu bar of my browser of /forum/wii

So I think something is up or I have been hacked as I do _NOT_ run a console forum and other urls were xbox etc.

I've removed the htaccess file and the /forum/forumdisplay.php?f=10 now disabled /forum/forumdisplay.php?f=10 in the menu bar on my browser.

So i think it's definitely something up with vbseo.

I'm going to reinstall VBSEO and if I have the same problem then will open up a support ticket.

If you can have advice for me that would be great just so I don't waste your time with a support ticket.

For future reference when you want to disable vBSEO , you should disable it within vBSEO Cp .

What is your current .htaccess content ?

Mert, I have just uploaded a fresh htaccess file from a fresh download of VBSEO330 and it is doing the exact same thing.

    Displaying /wii/ /xbox/ etc :(

I will open a support ticket now as I feel i may have been hacked :(

Update : The issue was related to xCache storage variable. It was conflicting with another vBSEO installation on the same server. Defining a custom storage variable solved the problem.

Thank you so very much Mert,

As I have said in the ticket and would like to say it in public, the service from the vBSEO guys is second to none. Not only do they understand the product and have wrote it very well the support they give is brilliant.

This is why anyone thinking "oh vb4 will have seo why do I need to bother" well this is your answer.. These guys have been doing it for years and have created a great package and thus know what they are doing!!!

    Thanks Mert & vBSEO

Please check the following setting within config_vbseo.php and define a custom prefix for each of your site
    PHP Code:
        define('VBSEO_CACHE_VAR',              'vbseo_storage');
