"Forum Index Pages URL Format" Settings Issue!

    Hey Guys.

I have a problem with the "Forum Index Pages URL Format" settings.

I have set [thread_title]-[thread_id].html for "Thread URL Format". When I select "[forum_title]-[forum_page].html" or use any other custom rule, say: "[forum_title]-[fourm_id]-[forum_page].html" for "Forum Index Pages URL Format", at the forums when I try to view the 2nd/3rd/... page, it takes me to some thread in a different forum. I tried tweaking the settings a bit, but with no success. Either it takes to another thread in a different forum or I get an error saying the thread doesn't exists, and to contact the webmaster.

Now, when I change the setting for "Forum Index Pages URL Format" to "[forum_title]/index[forum_page].html", it works fine. But, I want to remove the extra level of directory depth.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi,

in the case when you have the URL formats like
    [thread_title]-[thread_id].html
    [forum_title]-[forum_page].html

there is generally no way to make out which one is specifically used, because both of them mean the form of "literal_string-number.html". I sugest you to slightly change the format so that they differ, for instance use the following for pages 2+ of forumdisplay:
    [forum_title]-p[forum_page].html

Let us know if that helps

I tried tweaking the custom string a bit, but it did'nt work. I got this error when I used, [forum_title]-p[forum_page].html :

** No Forum specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the webmaster **
