    First unread post - 3.5 broken as well

    I did a search and saw that this was a known bug for 3.0.X -- but was supposedly not a problem on 3.5 -- tho, it appears to be affecting two different sites of mine that have been upgraded to 3.5 -- anyone know the deal?

    Are your 3.5 sites using the database for read marking?

    Are you using vB 3.5.x and using the Database option for storing read markers? (as described above)

    Any updates on this Tobias? Anyone else experiencing this??

    @John: How's it been working for you since changing to the dB marking system?

    We have also encountered this problem, but only since installing vBSEO.

    The vB help pages describe the "database (automatic forum marking)" option as being "the most processor intensive".

    Does anyone know exactly how much this will strain our server? We really can't afford any extra load. An alternative would be helpful.

    It seems to be fixed for me since changing the setting you described. Thanks much. BTW, I sent you a PM and never got a response back.

    Haven't heard of a better solution. Sorry I couldn't help.

    Thanks much. BTW, I sent you a PM and never got a response back.
    Could you re-send it please?

    Update: vBSEO 3.0.0 has an advance feature aimed at correcting the vB cookie-based marking issue. If you are using this type of marking, find the following setting via config_vbseo.php:
    define('VBSEO_NEW_LAST_POST_COOKIE',0);
    and change to:
    define('VBSEO_NEW_LAST_POST_COOKIE',1);
