Disable 'Like' notifications does not work

We have the latest vB and vbSEO installed, vB4.1.7.p1 and 3.6.0.

A member checks the box to disable Like notifications, but they still show in Notifications and more importantly generate an email each time. This causes a ton of spam emails. Some usergroups can turn it off successfully, some can't. It could be that this is some sort of issue with our usergroups but even so it's not really down to us, we have nothing fancy going on there AFAIK. It may also be a conflict with another plugin of course.

I flagged this up in a Support ticket as well.

As explained in support ticket , vBSEO doesn't have a disable notification feature designed for users. It will be included to next vBSEO version.

Is there a way to globally disable notifications for likes?

That's great, but can you give us a pointer as to how to do something about it in the meanwhile?

If there is no official support for this, then I'm open to solutions which users have found. The current implementation with notifcations again and again is very annoying, and there is probably something simple we can monkey with in the code somewhere to disable notifications.

We are sorry but we don't offer code customizations. You are free to customize it on your own.

I think I found a solution. I changed the "vBSEO Notifications List" plugin to inactive, and all the notifications have stopped. Thank goodness.
