- character (member profile) possible bug

Hi there one of my moderators noticed a possible bug in the member profile linking.

If a member uses the - character it turns it into a space

For example my username is

Mickie D

if someone signs up with

Mickie-D

it will take them to my profile for some reason when clicking on them in posts?

I have looked in the config but cannot find anything for it, I am using NGINX opposed to apace.
