Exclamation Bug in thread URLs related to accented characters and acronym settings

Using the default set of acromyms and using the word "Présentation" in your thread title causes the URL to appear as:

    http://xxx/xxx-1/12345-google-page-r...xxxxxxxxx.html

    But should be:

    http://xxx/xxx-1/12345-presentation-xxxxxxxxxxx.html

It appears that accented characters are being treated the same as white space by the code doing the acromym replacements.

We're using the latest VBSEO version 3.5.1

Also notice the same issue in the above post with "Pr" underlined

This is a vBSEO option , not a bug. Please try changing the following setting in vBSEO Cp > SEO Function > Acronym Expansion > Apply Acronym Expansion to URLs? Choose this setting NO

I'm not reporting the conversion of acronyms in URLs as a bug. I'm reporting the different behaviour when accented characters are/aren't used. "pr" should not be converted into "google-page-ranking" when 'pr' is found within a word.

Nick , please check if you have an acronym defined for PR.

We did, but as a short term fix I removed the 'pr' one as the term's not relevant to our forums anyway.

You can do that , vBSEO is shipped with couple defined acronym's. If they are not relevant to your forum , you should surely remove them.
