I'm not sure if this is a bug or if its easily changeable, but I'll post it here just in case.
I once had a used called ".Sam.", whose accout I've had to rename because of the following conflict.
Whenever you clicked a link to his profile (i.e. from the memberlist or from a post), you'd be taken to the profile of the user called "Sam" instead. My site profile urls are structured like this: /members/user.html
If I typed this in manually, I'd get .Sam.'s profile: /members/.Sam..html; otherwise, I'd be taken to /members/Sam.html.
I know that the first example does not use correct file naming syntax, but it looks like it's necesarry if I want to keep this method of rewriting URLs.
What should I do to fix this? Is it a bug? Would it be better to disallow periods in usernames?
