    Avatar Problem: Username's Avatar

    Hi,

I have a problem that seems to come from VBSEO. I've already made a post on VB.com and you can read that here: Avatar Problem: Username's Avatar - vBulletin Community Forum

A reply seems to explain it but I don't know how to fix it.

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hello,

do you have avatars stored in database or in filesystem? Do you have default vBSEO's .htaccess or it was modified?

Does it work correctly with vBSEO disabled? Please try to chanhe this line in .htaccess:
    Code:
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !^(admincp|modcp|clientscript|cpstyles|images)/
    to:
    Code:
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !^(admincp|modcp|clientscript|cpstyles|images|avatars)/

I should of said, yes it shows up fine with VBSEO turned off.

I tried that change and it didn't work. I even tried adding customavatars as well.

That's strange. Is "/avatars/spy.gif" file existing on your server?

Yes, comes up fine. Plus it shows up fine in the AdminCP.

    http://www.guildinn.com/forum/avatars/spy.gif

You can see that on the forum is doesn't but works when VBSEO is turned off.

For no reason at all it's started working. My host just upgraded to the latest PHP but I'm still using php4 so I can't see how that made a difference. Cheers for the help though

Your site still shows no avatar to my on the Spy profile. Going to send a ticket myself as I have the exact same problem.

I was going to submit it this weekend as it has come back. Let me know how you get on, no point us both submitting a ticket if it's a simple fix.

All working now, very quick response on support:

you had your "URL to avatars" set to "forum/customavatars" in vB admincp, while it should be relative to your forums root. I've changed it to "customavatars".
