    archive problems with rc5

    The following url is listed on my archive
    HTML Code:
    http://forum.time2dine.co.nz/archive/index.php/mission-bay-restaurants/chucks-steak-house-and-fish-restaurant-138.html
    it should be
    HTML Code:
    http://forum.time2dine.co.nz/mission-bay-restaurants/chucks-steak-house-and-fish-restaurant-138.html
    http://forum.time2dine.co.nz/archive....php/f-99.html

    You are missing the leading "/" in the url - I notice that you have an issue with when to add the leading forward slash and when you add the full domain name. I have the "include domain name in urls" as off, but note that you still add the domain name rather than just using "/" or forum root directory.

    The archive url redirects to the correct url when I have the Rewrite + 301 Redirect Archive Pages set as on.

    Need to get this one fixed pronto, but at least it redirects correctly (but only sometimes), so I am not reverting to the previous. See bottom post - I am now reverting back to RC4.

    another temp fix found...

    Another temp fix found, but best that the programming be fixed as it is something that will catch many people.

    I have been able to fix it by adding a leading forward slash to the rewritten urls in the config file.

    I initially added a leading forward slash to all the urls apart from the image ones. However, the forums urls stopped working. So I have removed the slashes from the forum urls.

    Currently still testing on the other urls.

    above fix creates further problems

    With the leading slash on the threads url's, the archive works but only when the archive redirect is turned off.

    Now I cant access any of the threads via the front side of the forum.

    So reverting back to not having the leading slashes on any of the urls, and keeping the archive as the 301 redirect.

    Now totally reverting back to RC4

    Now totally reverted back to rc4 - too many issues with the archive.

    The archive is the main source of Google PR for my threads, so I cant afford to have any issues with the archive.

    @T2DMan:

    Can you tell me what your RC5 settings (in vBSEO Admin CP) were for the following features prior to your troubleshooting efforts?

    [Archive Settings]

    (a) "Archive Options:"
    (b) "Rewrite Archive Root:"

    Hopefully it will now be fixed - I had a prerelease version. I had not touched the archive rewrite root. The archive rewrite options were stated in my post.

    @T2DMan:

    Was this issue corrected when you installed the official RC5 release?
