    Try changing
    announcement-[announcement_title]
    to

Yeah, everything different from thread-syntax works ...

But it would be nice to have the same syntax on the whole forum. E.g. at my forum i always use /name-id.html It works with Threads, Member Profils, Groups etc. Should work for announcements to. I thought the keyword "announcement" tells vbSEO to use announcement.php instead of showthread.php!? Should do so.

If you have a thread that starts with "announcement", it breaks that thread too.

The keyword needs to be separated out of the url by making it it's own 'folder'.

Youre right. The problem is, that the announcements are lying in the same "forum-folder" as the threads. So vbSEO needs something to distinguish between threads and announcements. You always run into problems if the announcement-title is included. Is there no insert-"a"-trick to make it unbreakable? Like 'append "a" if announcement-title ends with -number'. Then the following syntax would be unbreakable, since theres no number at the end = no thread id => announcement.

    f[forum_id]/announcement[announcement_id]-[announcement_title].html
... and its still in the same "folder" as the threads

edit: hm, this looks secure !?
    f[forum_id]/[announcement_title]-announcement[announcement_id].html
... since there is no -number at the end. right?

the 'forum-folder' is not an identifier in any way in this case. Since annoucements are far more rare, it's easiest to just use a new folder for them.
