Social Bookmarks only in first post of thread...

I'd like to have the social bookmark icons only show in the first post of the thread rather than in all. This would be instead of them appearing in the drop down box.

I'm using vbulletin 3.8.x and vbseo 3.5.2

Also, I'd like to add a Facebook button alongside the available Twitter etc buttons. Is this easy to do?

That is not an available option. If you show them in post, that links the post. Otherwise, the THREAD level share links appear in the linkback menu from the thread toolbar.

You can add any other bookmarks you wish via the custom line items. See the sticky in the members article forum for ideas.
