Reduce Bandwidth, Enhance Pagerank [Remove Last Post for Guests]

All templates need to be editted, it's not like there are templates for bandwidth and for optimization, the bandwidth is reduced because you will have less code to show to guests and spiders.

I'm just thinking about leaving the "today's post" so that not-logged-in-guests have the same functions there like before.
Is that possible? Or does this dramatically change the effect on optimization?

Well I believe the forumdisplay templates handle the search result pages (including todays posts).

So uninstall everything except the forumhome changes:

template 'FORUMHOME'
template 'forumhome_forumbit_level2_post'

Remember when you do this only forumhome will be optimized, forumdisplay will still have the last post showed to guests.

I'm not sure where exactly it did go wrong but doublecheck the forumdisplay changes for errors, because you still have the table with clickable replies and that isn't right.

well, forumhome now looks a little quieter. i wonder what would be the response from guest users.

i'm sure the forumhome and forumdislay pages will load much faster

do you know how to remove the whole thread views and replies colums from the forumdisplay? i can't seem to remove them.

basically i want to add an <if condition="$show['inlinemod']"> to prevent guest or members from viewing the thread counts and replies

Well guests are mostly on your site because they found an interesting post with a search engine, so I don't think forumhome is even that important for guests. The latest post feature is more important for members. BTW I think the most important feature for guests is the search facility

Hm, use a conditional based on usergroups, I don't think inlinemod works in this case. If you still can't get it to work, I'll take a look.

The next step is vBulletin in CSS (4.0?). But there are a few other things you can do

- remove avatar, reputation, other stuff from postbit for guests (guests don't care about that stuff anyway)
- remove other tables and menus for guests
...

Well it works fine here. Sounds like a typo or something. If you have vbseo installed you can just switch this option on (3.1).
