Cool [Plugin] Add Search Engine Optimized Keywords & Description to each Forum

Hello,

I just released this plugin on vb.org and i think it's a perfect addon to the great vbseo product.

For this plugin to work with vbseo, you should change two setting in your vbseoCP:

Under Section: vbseo CP > Dynamic META TAGS

Set: Replace the 'META KEYWORDS' Content? to NO
Set: Replace the 'META DESCRIPTION' Content? to NO

And thats about it!!

You can find the plugin --> HERE

Brief Introduction:
[/b]
Quote:
Add Search Engine Optimized Keywords & Description to each Forum
Keywords: SEO,Search,Engine,Optimization,Meta-tag,Keywords,Description

Context:
This plugin gives you the facility to add some special keywords and descriptions to each forum thus allowing you to optimize each of your forum for its relevant keywords. No need to inform you that Search Engine Optimized (SEO) keywords and description for your forums is essential to enhance your presence in search engines as well as increase your web traffic for relevant keywords.

How this Works?
http://www.sikhphilosophy.net (View the source of each forum to realise the effect of this plugin on your forums.)

Recommended Usage:
Only Text based information should be added in keywords and description for maximum results.

Enjoy !!

Re: [Plugin] Add Search Engine Optimized Keywords & Description to each Forum

The Forum Description is already added to the META tags by vBSEO on FORUMDISPLAY, and it adds the first part or the first post to the META tags on SHOWTHREAD. Turning these options off in vBSEO sounds like it will do more harm than good.

It sounds like your plugin may be useful to those that do not use vBSEO, however.

Re: [Plugin] Add Search Engine Optimized Keywords & Description to each Forum

Actually, this plugin was inspired by a idea from my own thread in this forum --> here

I would like to quote from that thread:
Quote:
I was checking out my meta tags. I noticed that in the keywords, the title of the thread was showing up on first places and but in the description, the first few words (27) of the thread were showing up by using forced Meta Tags option in vBSEO.

For example, its like this with title in bold font.

<meta name="keywords" content="vBSEO is a Brilliant Product, SEO, Content Relevant URLs, Search Engine Optimization. />

<meta name="description" content="hi, i would like to congratulate you for a great product that they are offering."

Now, I dont think description if fully optimized for relevant keywords as first few words in a topic hardly explain the theme of the thread...

Wouldn't it be better, if we could again put the thread title in the first places in the description as well. This should make the page more optimized for a search engine.

Like this...
<meta name="keywords" content="vBSEO is a Brilliant Product, SEO, Content Relevant URLs, Search Engine Optimization. />

<meta name="description" content="vBSEO is a Brilliant Product hi, i would like to congratulate you for a great product they are offering."

And, if in case, it is not a good practice to have same keywords in keyword and description tags in the first places, then perhaps the title of the thread could be put at the end of the description or perhaps automatically jumbled or put inbetween the content of description tag.

Like this...
<meta name="description" content="hi, i would like to congratulate you for a great product they are offering. vBSEO is a Brilliant Product"

Or like this...
<meta name="description" content="hi, i would like to congratulate you vBSEO is a Brilliant Product for a great product they are offering."

Or like this... by using stop words option
<meta name="description" content="Brilliant vBSEO Product hi, i would like to congratulate you for a great product they are offering."

What do you think?
This plugin performs exactly the same functions.
