    Not on my forum it isnt.... the post status icon differs, but there is no tick for threads you've posted in...

    is it something that can be turned on/off?

    Make sure you are using the Database Marking system to mark posts which you have already posted in. This is certainly a feature of vBulletin; you mind linking us to your forums?
