    Check your SHOWTHREAD template if it's only happening when viewing a thread. Near the top you should see a <title> </title> section. It should be in there.

    Bingo!

    That did it.

    Now if I can trouble you one more time......

    On the index page for the forums, I was able to edit the title and remove the hyphen.

    I was also able to remove it for individual threads, thanks to you, just now.

    The only place it remains, is when I enter each individual forum. Where would I edit that?

    thanks again.

    It can take a while for Google to update its indexes.

    In the PM I received, it said I still had the default... Except, I don't!!!! I took mine out months back, long before hearing about SEO - I just found it annoying

    1. Go to the Admin control Panel
    2. On the left hand side you will see a section called "Languages & Phrases"
    3. In there click on "Search in Phrases"
    4. In the box at the top, paste in this: x_powered_by_vbulletin
    5. Click on the circle that says "Phrase Variable Name Only"
    6. On the next screen at the top you will see this phrase with an edit button to the right. click on the edit button for each one and in the large box at the bottom type in: {1}
    7. Hit SAVE and then repeat for other phrases.

    That is how you write a tutorial.
    Thanks Tank... this was just the kind of step by step I needed!
