Nice tip, but it seems the branding free download of vBulletin (if you have branding free, you are offered a debranded download) already has this change (which is nice of them!). Just a heads up.

I don't think you can remove it legal now with out buying the branded free one. From what I am reading in the vBulletin manual here. Can some one check on this?

As already discussed in this thread, that does not apply to the "Powered By vBulletin" in the page title. It only applies to the footer, copyright, etc.

    Hi Jimmy,

This tip is only to remove "Powered by vBulletin" as it appears at the very of your browser, where it displays the page title.

This is NOT for removing the Jelsoft copyright found at the bottom of your forum. Unless you pay them for their branding removal option, that would not be permitted.

However, removing it from your title (top of browser) is ok.

I'm guessing we will not have to do this for each version upgrade unlike IPB's title removal. Thanks, I wondered about removal of the VB title.

Nope, i do beleive once you change certain phrases such as this one (and maybe all of them) They all remain during upgrades.

    Hi All,

When I tried to to this, I was successful, however there is still a hyphen - in my title display.

It comes up in each forum, as well as in each individual thread title.

    It appears like this

    - title of thread

How can I get rid of the hypen and does it really matter as far as seo is concerned?

I'd still like ti get rid of it as I don't like the way it looks.

    thanks!!

Make sure you make the change exactly as described, and remove the - from the phrase as well. The phrase should only contain this:

    {1}

Hi there - thanks for the fast reply.

I actually did leave just the {1} however, the hyphen still comes up.

That's probably why it's showing up. You may have to manually edit some templates to "clean that up".
