How to Change Permalink to an Image?

I would like to change my permalink "text" to a small gif button. I have viewed the thread shown here and wonder if that is what I'm looking for.

But in general I want to know how to change the permalink to an image, so I need the code for it, to code around a smaller button which will keep my site looking cleaner.

I would have imagined someone would have wanted to customize this by now, so I'm sure I'll get a regular response.

I would imagine it is, it's not against the rules or something to modify it into an image is it?

you can change vbseo_permalink phrase in vB admincp to something like:

Actually I needed the Permalink code to be able to make it work with an image, which is shown in the other thread. If anyone is interested here is an attached image of the permalink with a simple black outline so it's a clean image which will work on all skins that anyone can use if they like. I tried to keep the green coloring of the vbseo style with it but I used a tut and some effects to give it a cool shine. If anyone needs a psd, sorry I don't have it, just the gif.

Yeah. It works. We didn't mean to circumvent the system here, but we wanted the option for a nice button image rather than text in parantheses. I hit PL on any post and then copy the link:
