    Question Is vbulletin dying ?

As question says.. a number of reasons for asking same..

    1. Many old sites have migrated to other forum software.
    2. Many friends whom i came to know via vbulletin, have quit the same.
    3. Vbulletin.org is no more fun, like used to be few years ago..
    4. Almost difficult to find vbulletin coders/designers for custom work (inspite of good budget).

Or maybe I am wrong.. or following wrong direction ?

I think because of facebook growing this fast. People use social needs at social websites not only at forums. I agree about traffic drop. But the real cause like i said google traffic dropped %60 percent vecause of facebook and beside of that competition increased. There are lots of new type forums. They are all actually dying.

    I wouldn't agree.

I posted a request for coding a vb3 skin to vb4 (on .org) and got about 15 replies, $50 done within a few days.

Traffic has never dropped off for us in 6 years, and has only grown. I guess the secret is to keep your forums relevant to the subject matter that your forum was setup for.

I like Xenforo and what it stands for, but we are at the mercy of our software. If we change to a.n.other forum supplier, we lose vBSEO and the CMS (not the vB one thank God) - Our core content and traffic driver.

vBulletin as a company (and in my opinion only) have truly lost their way, but to transfer to a.n.other forum solution for us would be complete suicide.

Content is king, keep adding to it, keep it relevant, and welcome the Big G with open arms, and relevant links etc

Facebook is very good, but again, it is very bad. Move with the times.
