We have a political forum with a .co.uk which by design attracts US visitors. Now it currently operates as a .co.uk which is limited to UK. would you consider changing an established domain to a .com?

We have a political forum with a .co.uk which by design attracts US visitors. Now it currently operates as a .co.uk which is limited to UK. would you consider changing an established domain to a .com?
If your target market extends beyond the country, I would suggest using a global TLD.
