Being naive, can anyone please enlighten me into the company behind VB

I get the impression they own a lot of forums. Which if true means they will now have the opportunity to gain more ground on any competition.

What really makes me nervous is if they're able to actually monitor our adsense stats, and revenue reports for our sites IF we utilize their adsense integration.

Internet brands is notorious for buying up communities earning in excess of 200k a year and I'm sure this is a means to see what communities are in that category.

Just caught up on last nights goings on over there and one comment made does seem to sound a bit off to say the least.

You can clearly see on the Google site that revenue sharing with vBulletin.com is set to 0%. I won't guarantee it will always be 0% but don't foresee any reason to change it right now. If it changes you can remove the association from vBulletin.com in your Adsense account on Google's servers.
    Originating post

Thats to me sounds like they will try their luck bringing this in and once people calm down in a month or six and all agree nothing untoward is happening, bring in the next trick.

And going by the problems people have had removing this, its could well be the mentality of lead them in through an open gate, then give them a wall to climb over to get back out.

As for all the members on here putting your points across, well done you have stood your ground well

There is something that scares me more than the money and the attitude ... the "reports" that they can get.

It's come down to there being only one reason to continue with vB and that is the success I'm finally experiencing with vBSEO. I cannot see any other reason. And to think I was happy to have purchased my first vB license...

I'm extremely disappointed with the way vBulletin has been handled since their purchase by IB. I've now invested quite a bit of money in a product I no longer feel comfortable using.

It's not so much the Adsense thing, but the entire vBulletin staff's inability to provide (or even HAVE) honest, forthright answers to serious questions. It saddens me that I won't be using vBSEO after I find a new platform to work with.

vBSEO, if you came out with your own platform I'm sure many, many people would jump on board. The staff here is EXCELLENT at communication and your coding is superb. Seriously consider it.

I'm sure that they will soon provide a more detailed explanation of what the new ad integration feature involves, and how data is handled, etc.

    m sure they will,

but i think its a case of closing the barn door after the cow has already left..

there is a lot of lost trust with VB at the moment.. this sort of lost trust cannot be repaired overnight..

What bothers me more is the complete lack of communication IB is giving its employees. How could they NOT have anticipated these sort of questions?

IB is making damaging decisions and leaving their employees to clean up the mess.
