    vBulletin 3.7.5 Released

    vBulletin 3.7.5

vBulletin 3.7.5 contains a number of bug fixes, details of which can be found in the bug tracker.

The security fixes included in vBulletin the 3.7.4 PL1 release are also included in vBulletin 3.7.5.

vBulletin 3.8.0 ("Gold") to be Released on Thursday, January 8th

3.8 has progressed well through the beta and release candidates stage. We're happy to announce that the stable release of 3.8.0 will be made available to all customers with active licenses on Thursday, January 8th.

We would like to thank all customers who have taken part in the beta/release candidate process and especially those who have filed bug reports.

    Upgrading from Previous Versions

3.7.5 is a maintenance release. We recommend that all customers running prior versions of vBulletin 3.7 upgrade to benefit from bug fixes and stability improvements.

Full instructions for upgrading vBulletin are available here.

    PHP and MySQL Requirements

Please note that vBulletin 3.7.x requires at least PHP 4.3.3 and MySQL 4.0.16 or later.

However, we recommend that vBulletin 3.7.x is run on PHP 5.2.8 with APC (or a similar opcode cache) and MySQL 5.1.30 for best performance and stability.

End of Life for PHP 4

PHP 4 has now reached its end of life. We strongly recommend that customers update their servers to PHP 5.2.8 if they are still running PHP 4. vBulletin 3.7.x supports PHP 5 without any problems, though you may need to disable strict mode for MySQL, see here on how to enable 'force_sql_mode'.

Note: We will continue to support PHP 4 in the vBulletin 3 series.

    Download vBulletin 3.7.5

As usual, vBulletin 3.7.5 is available for all customers with valid, active licenses to download from the vBulletin Members' Area.

No, the next release of vBSEO will coincide with vBulletin 3.8.0. 3.7.5 is just a bug fix release.

I was actually referring to 3.8.0 only.

Will vbseo 3.2.5 release on 8th Jan too alongwith vb 3.8 gold?

I am asking this as I won't be upgrading my vb until vbseo 3.2.5 is out which would be fully compatible.

Why would anyone upgrade to 3.7.5 when 3.8 is out 2 days later?

Is it worth renewing my license yet

I gave up keeping up with the upgrades about 3-7.3 patch level give up

It seems to be every new release they do, a week or two later you get the security patch version released

These updates wouldn't be a problem if they had a system setup like wordpress where you didn't have to touch your template. But these constant updates with the current template system suck badly.

P.S. Is the New Reply Detected feature in 3.8 or something VBSEO did? That rocks.

If I am not mistaken it is something only here at vbseo.com

I know we had some talk of it, but I have not seen it in action yet.
