vBulletin 3.7.0 Release Candidate 3

vBulletin 3.7.0 Release Candidate 3

THIS IS PRE-RELEASE SOFTWARE.
IT IS UNSUPPORTED.

If you are not fully at home with backing-up and restoring your forum, dealing with bugs and regular upgrades, DO NOT INSTALL THIS VERSION

The quantity and severity of bugs being reported in the vBulletin 3.7.0 release candidates has recently decreased fairly dramatically so the time is right to do a further release. I believe that this could well be our final release candidate before declaring the code stable and moving to a 'gold' version.

Of course, it would be disappointing to do a 'gold' release only to be suddenly inundated with bug reports, so please continue to test the system and report any bugs you find in the bug tracker.

Any customers currently using any other pre-release version of vBulletin 3.7.0 should upgrade to this most recent version as soon as possible.

What does Release Candidate mean?
Release Candidate, or RC for short, means that we believe vBulletin 3.7 will be ready to be declared a "stable" and "supported" supported release once it has undergone some final testing. The only known bugs that may remain are trivial.

RCs will be released until only trivial bugs are being fixed. Once this happens, the next stage is to move on to "gold" or, as it's officially known, 3.7.0.

This is still pre-release software. If you are not fully at home with backing-up and restoring your forum, dealing with bugs and regular upgrades, do not install this version but rather wait for the final, 3.7.0 version.

Customers should bear in mind that this is a release candidate, not a certified 'stable' release so the following caveats apply:
  • Pre-release software is unsupported and you install beta and RC versions at your own risk.
  • Some minor bugs remain unresolved at this time, so pre-release software should not be deployed on production sites.
  • You should always back up your database fully before attempting to install pre-release software.
  • If you choose to install this version, you should be aware that we plan to release new RC versions in rapid succession as bugs are fixed and holes are plugged. Do not install this RC version if you are not willing or able to keep up-to-date with new releases.
  • The ImpEx import system does not support the 3.7 code yet, and will not support it until the release of 3.7.0 (stable).

I looked through the install folder and every version in the 3.x series has had 3 RC's. I imagine this one won't break the trend.

I wish they would get it out! I want vBSEO 3.2.0 so bad! I keep seeing a Turkish thread on the RC which makes me jealous lol.

I just want to turn on vB tags, and need the rewrite built into the new release to maintain Zoints Tags URL's.

But anyway, I got it installed, running smoothly.

This thread!

vBSEO 3.2.0 RC1

And yes, I'm starting to worry about my investment in vB. I hope all works out well.

And I just noticed the version in the footer too. Wonder how long that has been there.

Once vbulletin 3.7 goes final, then i'm sure vbseo 3.2 will be out for beta testing for the pre-release team. Unless they beta testing it now. This year has been great with vbulletin and there updates. VBSEO will top it with a great new 3.2 version.

It is already testing here at vBSEO, but we have a few more things to wait for before we release it to our pre-release team .

What are the requirements to be on the pre-release team? I have 2 vbseo enabled forums (one that gets approx 2 million hits a month and one that's in testing until 3.7 goes gold).
Send me a PM if you are looking for any new testers.

Hello Stewart ,

You can contact Juan Muriente and request access to pre release team but you must be aware that pre release members are the first ones who are testing vBSEO live and they may face serious issues from time to time.
