vB4 CMS now live on vBulletin.com

The Beta release of vBulletin 4.0 Publishing Suite here on vBulletin.com has been updated to include the all-new CMS component.

The public view of the CMS is the same as users on your site would see. At the moment, most of the CMS is populated with simple lorem ipsum placeholder content. The intent of this is to present examples demonstrating various page layouts, built-in and third-party widgets, preview images, navigation, etc. Additionally, the first articles describe the elements of CMS pages and how they are created.

We haven't opened up the administrative functions here, since that would require giving public access to the Admin CP.

How will we use the CMS on vBulletin.com?

Over the coming weeks, we will begin using the CMS to publish product information, tutorials, documentation and more.

How complete is this version of the Publishing Suite?

Please remember we are still in beta. There are known bugs, which we are fixing as quickly as possible. When you find bugs, you can help us by reporting them in the 4.0 bug tracker.

    Enjoy!

It looks interesting, but the URLs are awful.

I figure I'm not the only one who has been using Wordpress as a frontend CMS because vbulletin has been behind the curve on this, so hopefully:

    1. We'll see an import feature from WP
    2. We'll see Wordpress URL's supported, if nothing else, from vbseo.

PS - "Spam killed by Spam Decimator Version 1.5" posts are littering up this forum - you should do a hard delete on both the posts and spammer profiles - instead of a soft delete that leaves all the spammer profiles up, especially as the Russians by habit leave p0rn links in their profiles that can still be found otherwise. 2c.

It looks like the URLs they are using are NOT the mod_rewrite option, but rather the 'hybrid' mode. Either way, they are not suppoting all sections of the suite. see: vBSEO - vBulletin 4 + vBSEO 3.5 SEO Features for a better comparison.

    1) I haven't heard of any import/impex systems being made available.
    2) vbseo 3.5 will fully support the vb4 suite (including CMS) and as always, will be very flexible in choosing your URL style.

@spam, looks like we missed the big board user group. I have left a note for an admin to fix that. Thanks for reporting!

I look forward to playing with the CMS myself
and I see the deleted @spam post as well
I use to report them, but I just ignore them now seeing how I've seen them for months

I'm hoping it's better than vBa and more people come out with good modules to add to it (if they use modules like vBa...I haven't looked into it much I guess).

I just purchased a new vb cms and forum licence for a new project, I can't wait to play with it and experiment it myself. so far the live version looks neat and I'm sure it's more seo friendly than vba.
