New Support Staff Member: Trevor Hannant

I am very pleased to announce the addition of Trevor Hannant (aka Trevster) to the vBulletin Support Staff Team.

Trevor comes with over 7 years experience in running vBulletin-based forums. In addition he also has over 6 years experience working in a Support environment for a UK internet and telephone bank as a Support Analyst and User Acceptance Tester.

Trevor will initially be providing support on the forums, and as part of the vB4 Alpha test team he will be instrumental in helping with questions and issues related to vB4.

I don't know of any company that lets the general public into its private recruitment conversations.

I meant it as in plucking people out of the community, although I could go on more this isn't the place for argument

It's actually very common. Most of the vBSEO staff, including myself, was offered the job based on their knowledge and posting activity in the forums. Who knows your product better than someone who uses it day in and day out?

I could provide counter argument but that will probably open a can of worms again. At least 3 people are beginning to think that forum participants and you in a job with vBS, but also that two recent additions were members of the alpha testing team. This didn't come to my mind at first, but, someone pointed out that it was unfair but I don't really see so.

Maybe they were on the alpha team because they were the best candidates for the job? Congrats to him and Dave, both well deserved.
